NYC Observations

DINER CAKES:

Cakes in NY diners have a definitely architectural look. They may be encircled by ladyfingers, as if they were supporting columns. The tops are like complex white cornices; and cut-aways reveal a large number of layers, lacking only an elevator to give the viewer access to the upper stories.

Perhaps the WTC monument should be a giant NY cheesecake?

Next time you’re in a diner, take a look at the giant cakes and cast your vote for the most appropriate one.

CONTRAILS:

Spiral notebook bindings in dirty cotton yarn.

ASPHALT:

Long strips of gray rag flung on the ground with wobbly dotted white lines running parallel to their edges. Some have been carelessly patched with blacker materials which have been in turn patched with pieces of a darker or lighter gray. They bulge as if hand sewn by a beginning seamstress.
